Missing man found safe after search.
A missing man sparked a major search operation as a helicopter and specialist teams scoured Holy Island to find him.
The Holy Island coastguard team was dispatched on Saturday after a man was reported missing. Police officers were taken to the island by boat to join the search.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: "Holy Island Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked yesterday afternoon to work with Northumbria Police to search for a missing male on Holy Island.
"Humber Coastguard then dispatched Berwick RNLI all-weather lifeboat with coastguard officers from Berwick and police officers to proceed to Holy Island.
"A coastguard helicopter was also tasked and searched the whole of Holy Island.
"After a period of time the casualty was located safe and well."
