WHERE has Chaudhry Nisar gone? Has he retired from active politics?
Although there has been no formal announcement in this regard, one is forced to come to this conclusion owing to his continued absence from the current political landscape.
From what I remember, he was elected as an MPA from PP-10 (Rawalpindi V) in the July elections. By remaining absent from the House, he is betraying the trust of the 53,145 voters who voted in his favour. Chaudhry Nisar's political fortunes suffered a serious setback when he contested the 2018 elections as an independent candidate after his PML-N refused him a ticket.
Undeterred, he contested from four constituencies but lost on two National Assembly and one provincial seats. His decision to part ways with the PML-N damaged him as the party fielded its own candidates against him.
Chaudhry Nisar must make up his mind now. Would he like to retain his seat or give it up? He cannot let his constituents remain without a voice.
