Missing Kate's boyfriend traced.
Kate Osborne, 35, of Carlisle, was last seen by her maid leaving her home dressed for a party on April 18.
She was working as a translator for several international aid agencies in the wake of the terror bombing on the island in October last year.
Cumbria Police said yesterday that Ms Osborne's long-term boyfriend Jose Henricci, a professional surfer, had been arrested in Peru on April 29 in connection with a separate incident. He is currently in custody in Puerto Maldonado, in Peru.
"It is understood his arrest is not connected to Kate's disappearance," a police spokesman said.
Ms Osborne's parents spoke at the weekend of their frustration after returning from Bali no closer to finding their daughter. Patrick and Liz Osborne spent 10 days on the Indonesian island and returned to their Carlisle home last Thursday.
Mrs Osborne said: "I couldn't believe we were going home because I felt we were leaving her there. The worst part was going to Kate's home and going through her belongings. On Monday we packed up her house, which was incredibly hard."
Ms Osborne moved to Bali four years ago to work as a translator and was last seen in the early hours of April 19 on a night out with Jose Henricci.
After speaking to her friends and reading through her paperwork, Mr and Mrs Osborne said they were certain their daughter was planning to return to Cumbria in May.
