Miss NI is Tiff-shape; SAILOR BEAUTY WINS TITLE.

TIFFANY Brien was celebrating last night after being crowned Miss Northern Ireland.

And today she wakes up to a string of prizes as well as a trip of a lifetime to this year's Miss World Competition in China.

She will also face the cameras, not in a crowd of would-be winners, but as the new face of Northern Ireland.

The winner of the Open And Direct title was declared at a glitzy ceremony in the Europa Hotel in Belfast where 26 finalists were vying for the top prize.

As well as the China trip Tiffany also gets a car for the year as well as a catalogue of goodies including a wardrobe of designer dresses, shoes from Armani Collections at The Outlet Village and of course a modelling contract with the Alison Campbell Agency. t n dds The 21-year-old got the coveted crown after it was ceremoniously handed over by outgoing Miss NI Finola Guinnane - who has spent the year doing photoshoots across the country.

Ms Guinnane also represented d Northern Ireland at last year's Miss World in London. The girls who made it to last night's final got there after heats across Northern Ireland from March Norther until last month. Tiffany, from Holywood, Co Down, is an award-winning sailor and Sports Science student at the Scienc UU University of Ulster.

c2a She is hoping to compete in the 2016 Olympics but after winning her heat decided to give Miss Northern Ireland a go.

hMIr At the time she said: "I was so chuffed to win but I still haven't given sailing up."

sa ch st sa She is planning to sail across the Irish i Sea with blind athlete Mark Pollock, also from Holywood, in early June to raise money for Sailability and the Mark Pollock Trust.
