Miocic's on verge of history; UFC.
Byline: | Graeme Young
UFC's first pay-per-view of 2018 looks too tight to call as heavyweight kingpin Stipe Miocic takes on the ferocious Francis Ngannou.
Cleveland hero Miocic wants to become the first man ever to defend his belt on three occasions.
But Ngannou is a formidable opponent who has wiped out all-comers.
The Cameroonian is the bright new thing in the UFC and looks every inch the star. He can be backed at 1/2 for the win by any method while the champion is 6/4 to win.
So where's the value? Miocic at 2/1 to score a knockout win is tempting because he has shown his stopping power against Fabricio Werdum and Junior dos Santos.
If you can't see past Ngannou then an early stoppage could tempt you and he's available at 15/2 to win in round two.
On the undercard, UFC legend Daniel Cormier defends his lightheavyweight title against Volkan Oezdimir.
The feeling is Cormier is on the slide but he'll take away Oezdimir's advantage in the clinch and find a way to earn a stoppage victory.
He's 13/5 to win by stoppage and 15/8 to win by submission. Oezdimir can be backed at 11/5 to emerge with the belt.
Young loves Miocic to win in R3 13/1 Cormier stoppage 13/5
