The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency awarded three waste tire grants totaling $34,718 to two Minnesota Companies and one state resident to be used to develop equipment to make crumb rubber; to perform safety tests on a playground surface and sub-base playground pad; and to develop a roofing spray using waste tire crumb rubber with a polymer binder, such as neoprene or urethane. In all, MPCA has awarded more than $450,000 in grants and low-interest loans for development of markets for recycled waste-tire products.
