BEIRUT: The Tourism Ministry reminded restaurants and night clubs Friday not to serve minors alcoholic beverages and not to force upon the customer any service which he or she did not order. These instructions came in the form of a memo to all the restaurants, pubs and night clubs. The ministry called on the restaurants and night clubs to place these memos (in Arab and foreign languages) in a place where all customers can see them. It added that the VAT calculation should only be based on the basic price and the service. "The customers also have the right to take away the food and beverages which they did not consume," the memo said. The memo also stressed that the owners of the restaurants and night clubs must give a detailed bill of all the food and drinks to the customers. It warned that any business which fails to comply with these directives will be prosecuted by the law. -- The Daily Star
