Ministry of Health, al-Bustan Charity Sign Cooperation Agreement on Cochlea Implant Project.

DAMASCUS, (SANA) -- Ministry of Health and al-Bustan Charity on Monday signed A cooperation agreement on establishing a Hearing and Cochlea Implant Unit in Damascus Hospital, in addition to cornea transplant department.

According to the agreement, the Charity provides the artificial cochlea for the patients and the medical cadre in the charity will cooperate with the doctors in the Health Ministry to conduct the surgeries.

The Ministry of Health will be responsible for providing the place for conducting the surgical operation and ensuring the best medical services for patients before and after the operation.

Minister of Health Wael al-Halqi said the agreement complements a series of other projects that aim at strengthening partnership between state sectors to provide citizens with best services.

The minister added that the first cochlea implant operation will be conducted in Damascus before expanding into other health centers distributed throughout the Syrian governorates.
