Minister inspects cleanliness drive in Karachi.
KARACHI -- Provincial Minister for Human Settlements Ghulam Murtaza Baloch has said that dumping garbage at beaches had not only increased environmental pollution but also posed a threat to aquatic life and there was a need to keep beaches clean. It will increase environmental beauty and protect marine life as well, he said this while visiting various areas of coastal belt of Malir district under Clean My Karachi campaign today.
On this occasion, MPA Mahmood Alam Jamut and DC Malir Abdul Halim Jagirani were also accompanied by the provincial minister. Baloch reviewed the ongoing cleanliness campaign in Latti Basti, Spiri Goth, Lal Abad, Elias Jat Goth and Buffalo Colony. The provincial minister observed the construction debris in Buffalo Colony Road No. 5 and called the owner and directed him to remove the debris himself. He inspected the slum jetty and instructed the jetty to immediately transport the garbage lying on the beach. On the occasion of the visit, Baloch also issued orders to DC Malir to dispose of garbage dumped for years along the Rehri Goth Eidgah Ground.
