DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 2000

Transportation Agency Selects Solution For Transit, Airport and

Port Operations

Mincom, Inc., a total solutions provider of enterprise applications for asset-intensive industries, announced today that the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), has signed a multi-million dollar license fee and services agreement with Mincom.

The agreement includes the purchase and implementation of Mincom's fully integrated business component system for managing maintenance, materials, and financials across the entire NFTA enterprise. EAM Resources and Integic will be Mincom partners for the implementation and workflow aspects of the agreement.

The NFTA, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, operates the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the Niagara Falls International Airport, the Metro Bus and Rail transportation system, a 1,000-slip harbor, and transportation centers in downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

"Delivering consistent and reliable customer service across the organization is critical to our customers," said Lawrence M. Meckler, executive director of the NFTA. "Given the scope of our operations, we require a considerable range of transportation functionality in an enterprise solution. Our expectation is that we will receive a software package without complex interfaces or code changes."

The NFTA cited the `financial district concept' as one of the primary features crucial to running its organization. It allows each entity in the organization to generate its own profit and loss statements from its location. Another benefit that affected the selection decision was the complete integration of vehicle maintenance and facilities management information in a single database. Mincom's Business Performance Management and LinkOne Internet electronic documentation products also were part of the solution package.

In addition to managing the operations of the five revenue-generating entities within the NFTA, the Mincom solution also will be implemented to service the NFTA's entire operating fleet. With almost 1,000 vehicles in service, including buses, railcars, paratransit and non-revenue generating vehicles, the NFTA expects to exact significant cost reduction through streamlining its maintenance operations.

"The NFTA is serious about providing dependable transportation services to all of their customers," said Larry Hagewood, President of Mincom's North American operations. "With large fleets operating in five active organizations, they have to support their current business efficiently, even as they plan for their future needs. We look forward to traveling with them -- and in this case, it will be over land, air and water."

Mincom will support the future expansion plans of the NFTA, both at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and NFTA-Metro. The anticipated go-live

for the initial installation of MIMS Open Enterprise is in March of 2001. The NFTA also has indicated its intention to migrate to the latest version of MIMS, the newly released Ellipse(SM), as a part of its long-term e-business strategy.
