Minardi roughed off for season after coughing.

MINARDI, the winner of the Middle Park Stakes, was ruled out of today's Darley Dewhurst Stakes after coughing and is now likely to be roughed off for the season.

Aidan O'Brien, who trains the Boundary colt, said yesterday: "Minardi coughed this morning just before he got on the gallop and, since we have three others in the race, there was no point taking a chance at this time of year. He'll come back next season."

O'Brien also said that Hemingway, one of his 10 acceptors for the Dewhurst at the five-day stage, might run in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster next Saturday. "He worked very well this morning," he added.
