Milton get better of close battle.

Milton ground out a tough 1-0 win at Glasgow University on Saturday to keep their Caledonian League Premier Division hopes alive.

They started the better team as the home team sat back and invited them to attack.

Shaddick went close AFTERTAYLOR set him up then Statter was unlucky after good play by Mitchell.

At the other ENDWHITEFORD made a tremendous block tackle to prevent the students opening the scoring.

With Campbell ANDTAYLOR dominating the midfield and McKinlay making some great runs, the University were always on the back foot.

Milton opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when, after some brilliant play by Statter, Shaddick composed himself and coolly slotted the ball into the net.They almost made it two just before the break when Galloway was unlucky with a header from aTaylor corner kick.

The home team came at Milton after the break but Anderson,Whiteford and Galloway stood firm along with their safety net Clark in the Milton goal.

Henderson was unlucky not to put Milton two up WHILEWATT and Henderson combined well but again the danger was cleared.

And with minutes remaining Clark made a brilliant save to make sure all three points headed back to Bluebellwood.
