Miller Brewing Co. to sponsor N.B.A. hoops for four years.

Philip Morris Cos.' Miller Brewing Co. and General Electric Co.'s NBC network have reached agreement on a new four-year advertising sponsorship of National Basketball Association broadcasts through the 1997-98 season.

In a press release, the Miller Brewing Co. said that with the new agreement, it retains its position as the largest advertiser on NBA telecasts on NBC.

According to the terms of the agreement, Miller also retains exclusivity for all on-air promotional features for the beer category.

Miller said it will also continue its sponsorship of any local NBA teams, as well as its NBA-themed national promotions.

Under the new NBA/NBC agreement, which begins with the 1994-95 season, the league and the network will share equally in revenues that are achieved through advertising sales above a certain amount.
