Miller's "Thanks" program donates to nation's food banks

The Miller Brewing Co. and its consumers teamed up in November to help raise thousands of dollars for food banks throughout the United States.

Miller's "Thanks" programraised $229,203 to help feed the hungry during holidays. Food pantries from Alaska to Arkansas and from Connecticut to California -- a total of 198 -- benefited from the program.

Miller Brewing Co. made a donation to the program for each purchase of select cases of Miller Lite, Miller High Life and Miller Genuine Draft during the month of November.

"Miller is proud to have been able to team up with our consumers to help food pantries all across the country," said Jeff Schouten, Miller's group managers, promotions.

"When we first announced the program, we expected donations to total $100,000," Schouten continued. "Thanks to our customers and Miller employees, we more than doubled that figure."
