Milk pail cleaners.

COUNTRYSIDE: In answer to Kathy's question in the January/February 2008 issue of COUNTRYSIDE regarding milk pail cleaners: We use Powdered Dairy Soap from Hoegger Supply Company (1-800-221-GOAT or their website is http://hoeggergoatsupply. com). It is relatively inexpensive (two pounds for $5.95) and you just use one tablespoon per gallon of water so it lasts quite a while. It is also mild so doesn't affect the taste of the milk. We keep a gallon made up in one of our old gallon glass jars and pour a small amount into what we are cleaning, then rinse and let air dry.--Liz, Cornish Heritage Farms, Montana
