Milk Link co-op targets N Wales; roundUP.

DAIRY co-operative Milk Link has launched a new membership drive in North Wales - and has announced a pounds 2,000 annual bonus for existing members.

Its governing board has approved a Member Processing Interest Payment (MPIP) of pounds 3.3m to be paid by May 28 - some pounds 800,000 below last year's figure On average this will be equivalent to about 35p/litre across the total volume of milk supplied during 2009/10.

It's the fourth year in succession that members have received MPIPs, and Milk Link hopes it will boost the co-op's North Wales recruitment drive.

Milk Link chief executive Neil Kennedy said: "We have a number of direct suppliers in North Wales and we are keen to hear from any who would be interested in exploring full membership with us."
