Military medical relay race of International Army Games opens in Uzbekistan AKIPRESS.COM - The official opening ceremony of the military medical relay race of the International Army Games took place on August 4 in Uzbekistan at the Forish training ground, the Defense Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

The ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Maj. Gen.

Bahodir Kurbanov, Jizzakh region governor Ergash Saliyev and his deputies, commander of military districts, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, defense attaches of diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan, media representatives, artists. Bahodir Kurbanov welcomed participants of the military contest and wished success to them.

The International Army Games brought together the record-breaking number of participants 217 teams, more than 5,000 servicemen from 36 countries. The teams from Jordan, Cambodia, Congo, Mali, Cuba and Sri Lanka are participating in the games for the first time.

Representatives of the United States, France, Turkey and Slovakia dispatched their observers. The 2019 Army Games consist of 31 contests, 16 of them are held in Russia, 4 in China, 3 in Kazakhstan, 2 in Belarus and Iran each, one in Armenia, Azerbaijan, India, Mongolia and Uzbekistan each.
