Chester "Chet" and Betty Ramsey of La Pine celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 22 with a reception at the La Pine Bowling Center.
The couple were married Aug. 19, 1955, in Eugene. Their children and their spouses are Kathy and Norm Overlund of Eugene, Debbie and Dave Wirtz of Crescent and Dan and Tracy Ramsey of Bend. The couple have 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He worked as a timber faller for Rosboro Lumber Co. and retired from Gilchrist Timber Co. He continues to operate Chet's Custom Mowing. He is a member and president of the men's bowling league at La Pine Bowling Center.
She belonged to women's bowling leagues in Oakridge, Gilchrist and La Pine.
Both are members of the La Pine Community Church and belong to the senior center and Moose Lodge in La Pine.
Kitte Kat is a very sweet 10-year-old female kitty. She loves to be petted and purrs and purrs, and will chirp an answer when you talk to her.
Kitte Kat is quite shy at first, and will need time to adjust to a new home.
She is in excellent health, but is somewhat overweight and will need help losing weight.
She would do best in a quiet home as the only pet, or with another very mellow cat.
Kitte Kat is being offered at a special adoption fee (call for details). She has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, defleaed and dewormed. She is currently in foster care.
