Mike Bolen Opens a New York-Inspired Art Gallery to Complement Intero Real Estate Services in Napa Valley; Mike Bolen Fine Art Lands New York City Celebrity Artists Olive Madora Ayhens and Guy Stanley Philoche for Its Inaugural Gallery Show.

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Intero Real Estate Services' newest franchise owner, Mike Bolen, is stirring things up in Napa Valley with the opening of Mike Bolen Fine Art (MBFA), a New York-inspired urban art gallery that will be located adjacent to his Intero Real Estate office in downtown Napa. As part of the grand opening, MBFA will feature two of New York City's most sought after artists: Guggenheim Award recipient Olive Madora Ayhens and celebrity emerging artist Guy Stanley Philoche.

Opening July 2nd, MBFA will showcase the finest museum-quality artwork from the art mecca that is New York City. Bolen and gallery curator Iris Stubbs say they are steadfast in their commitment to showcase art that is extraordinary and unique to Napa Valley, making MBFA the quintessential Chelsea gallery transplanted from New York to the West Coast with exhibitions that feature the art world's most established artists and hottest emerging artists. MBFA will feature works priced up to $250,000.

"Our vision is to become the finest art gallery on the West Coast by bringing extraordinary artists to this area -- the kind of artists you'd have to travel across country to see," said Bolen. "It's a perfect match for our clients, who are well traveled and have sophisticated tastes. They'll appreciate the caliber of artists we're exhibiting."

Famed winery builder James Nolan, known for building some of Napa Valley's most beautiful landmarks, including the Laird Family Estates in Napa and Nickel & Nickel Winery and Cardinal Winery in Oakville, has remodeled the space with opaque glass walls, stained concrete floors and a suspended pane ceiling to give it the energy and spirit of an urban gallery. MBFA even has a $20,000 espresso and coffee bar that clients can enjoy while in the gallery or the Intero office.

"When Mike described to us his vision for the gallery and how it would be connected Intero, we were ready to support him 100 percent," said Gino Blefari, founder, president and CEO of Intero Real Estate Services. "There is so much synergy between the two entities -- we have a lot of high net-worth clients who are buying luxury homes in the Napa Valley; these are the same of individuals who would be interested in the high-end art Mike is offering."

MBFA will be hosting a grand opening artwork reservation event on Saturday, July 1st from 3:00-5:00 p.m., along with a VIP, invitation-only gala in the evening from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Olive Madora Ayhens and Guy Stanley Philoche will be attending these events. Press who are interested in attending should contact curator Iris Stubbs for an invitation.

Olive Madora Ayhens was born in Oakland, California. She earned a BFA and MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, and has held teaching positions at several prestigious universities, including UC Berkeley, Brown University and Sarah Lawrence College. Her highly colorful paintings and watercolors focus on actual and imagined environmental issues and are profoundly influenced by her environment. Her work is currently being displayed in The Kremlin, The Moscow and the Oakland Museum. She is a 2006 Guggenheim recipient, has received two Pollack-Krasner grants, and has been commissioned by the likes of David Rockefeller Jr. for paintings. Ayhens had a studio on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center, most of which was destroyed during the 911 attacks. Fortunately, she was able recover six pieces from that studio which will be featured at MBFA.

Haitian born Guy Stanley Philoche is noted as one of the hottest emerging artists on the New York art scene today. His family immigrated to the U.S. from Port-au-Prince in 1980. Philoche studied at an art school in New Haven, Connecticut, and moved to New York City in 2004. He quickly gained notoriety on the elite New York art scene for his work that has been described as "a beautiful organization of chaos." Philoche and his art have been featured in numerous national and international art and culture magazines and in The New York Times. He has had exhibitions in renowned galleries throughout New York City and the North East, including a recent gala dinner that put his work alongside that of Yoko Ono, Jeff Koons, Chuck Close & many other renowned artists.
