Migrating Lawyers

Summer is here, and the change of seasons heralds the migration of some Little Rock attorneys.

The Giroir & Gregory firm soon will be heading over to the 19th floor of the Stephens Building. The nine attorneys and support staff will set up quarters in about 11,000 SF of space.

The move is scheduled for completion July 5. The firm is moving from the 24th floor of the First Commercial Building, where it has been since Joe Giroir and Watt Gregory III merged in 1989.

The move comes as no surprise. After all, Giroir is Jack Stephens' attorney.

The Huckabay Munson Rowlett & Tiley firm will be heading to the First Commercial Building by the end of August.

The firm will expand from 11 to 13 attorneys following the move to 10,000 SF on the 19th floor.

The Huckabay firm has spent seven years on the second floor of the Riley Building, where it occupied 6,000 SF.

The Rose Law Firm should close a deal soon on the former Gold's House of Fashion building on Main Street in Little Rock, between Third and Fourth streets.

"We have it under contract," says lawyer Bill Kennedy, who says his firm will use the 19,500-SF building primarily for storage space.

The seller is OneBank, which owned the property for more than a year, according to bank spokesman Doug Scott.

Asking price for the building was $285,000, which comes to $14.62 per SF.
