Migdol pays tribute to tragic law student.

In a poignant tribute to a young man with so much potential, but whose life was taken from him last June at the age of 30, The Migdol Organization honored Kris Talese Bellamkonda by affixing a plaque in his honor to the fagade of the company's headquarter building at 2280 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Harlem.

The commemoration ceremony, attended by Kris' family, the Migdol family and friends, took place last month.

Migdol's son, Aaron, was a classmate of Kris' at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and Mr. Migdol was part of the first graduating class of Cardozo. Prior to law school, Kris received a degree in physics from NYU. He co-founded Intellastructure, a biometrics company, then ventured into real estate by acquiring a dilapidated brownstone in Harlem.

He taught math and science at Vanguard High School, and received a Goldman Sachs Fellowship to pursue a Masters degree in science education, which he completed in 2003. His goal in attending law school was to acquire the legal skills necessary to help with real estate development decisions.

Kris ran the NYC Marathon in 1998, traveled widely to Brazil, Russia, Iceland, India, Greece, and ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. A gifted individual, his many pursuits included academics, painting, gourmet cooking, composing, writing, running, poker, and karaoke. He is survived by his mother Bonnie, father Narayana, and his sisters Kamala and Tara.

Kris' plaque is the third to be affixed to Migdol's building. On October 27, a plaque was unveiled honoring Thornton J. Meacham Jr., one of Harlem's greatest lawyers. The Migdol Organization plans to unveil other plaques in the future, honoring noteworthy people whose accomplishments have made a difference and impacted others.
