Migdol makes class count in Harlem.

EduCARE NYC Inc., one of three non-profits run by The Migdol Organization, has donated over $15,000 this year to provide educational resources to students in Harlem.

The Migdol Organization also held a fundraiser which raised $3,500 for the St. Aloysius Education Clinic, which specializes in providing literacy, summer and year-round academic support and PSAT/SAT preparation assistance to children ages 3-21 living in the New York metropolitan area.

In June, Migdol donated three $500 scholarships each to the Pelham Fritz Basketball League.

The Migdol Organization has also made a five-year commitment to the Thurgood Marshall Academy for Learning and Social Change run by Sandy Pottier Johnson, principal. Three laptops will be donated each year for five years to the top two students and a third student who has changed the most from the 7th through the 12th grade. The Thurgood Marshall Academy boasts a graduation rate of 86%, 90% of whom go on to enroll in college. Enrolling in college is, in fact, a required course for all students, as is the course in financial aid.

Finally, the Organization is supporting the James Weldon Johnson Leadership Academy with three initiatives:

1) the creation of a track field in the school yard, 2) an annual $10,000 grant towards JWJ's junior and senior trips, and 3) an annual lap top computer for the eighth grade valedictorian.
