Midnight party launch for new Nintendo.

A CITY centre shop is holding a special midnight party to mark the launch of the latest games console.

Gamestation, in New Street, is expecting queues to form when the new Nintendo Wii console is launched on Thursday.

The shop has a 'Wii window', allowing gamers to step inside and play on the innovative new console.

The party kicks off at 10pm with DJs, food and a guest appearance from Nintendo mascot Mario.

Gamestation will then lead a countdown to the launch, with hundreds of fans expected to join the rush to get their hands on the console.

Store manager Matt Perks said: "The launch of the Nintendo Wii is big news for gamers and Gamestation's midnight opening event is just going to send anticipation through the roof.

"Nintendo fans will be able to see Mario on a big screen, making Gamestation the place to be on December 7."
