Middle ear prosthesis.

Kurz has introduced the patented TTP[TM]-VARIAC system, which consists of a variable-length tympanoplastic middle ear prosthesis made of pure titanium and a single-use, multifunctional sizer disk. This product offers excellent biocompatibility, optimal sound conduction, and efficient intraoperative handling. The TTP-VARIAC system fulfills all the requirements for successful reconstruction of the ossicular chain.

The single-use sizers, which are attached to the perimeter of the disk, are used intraoperatively to quickly and reliably determine the correct length of the middle ear prosthesis for a perfect fit. The cavities of varied depths serve to adjust the length of the implant. The footplate is secured to the shaft with the prosthesis's integral locking mechanism. With this single-use product, time-consuming cleaning and sterilization are unnecessary.
