Microwave makes caramel corn easy.

MY NAME is Chantel Shelton and I am 12 years old. My family and I have made this caramel corn recipe since I was 6. So two great reasons why you should try this are: No. 1, it's simple to make; No. 2, it tastes delicious!

Caramel Corn

1 cup raw popcorn

1 cube butter ( 1/2 cup)

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup corn syrup

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Pop the popcorn. Mix the butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Microwave on high until melted, then boil for 2 minutes. Stir in baking soda and vanilla.

Put popped popcorn in a paper bag, pour caramel mixture over, and shake. Cook it in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove the bag from the microwave and shake again. Microwave on high for 1 minute more. Remove and shake once again.

Empty into a large bowl, let it cool and serve.
