Microsoft unveils new mouse technology.
Microsoft has announced details of the second generation of its Microsoft IntelliEye optical technology.
The improved optical technology, claimed to be 33% faster than the current version, works by capturing digital images as the mouse or trackball is moved. According to Microsoft the current IntelliMouse optical mouse captures 1,500 images per second, while the second-generation IntelliEye will take 2,000 images per second.
The technology will be integrated into Microsoft's family of optical mouse products and trackballs later in the year.
