Microsoft executive vice president Mike Maples.

MICROSOFT executive vice president Mike Maples on Bill Gates' promise last spring to provide a full line of applications once OS/2 had an installed base of two million units: "The fact that someone sells a lot of machines and bundles a lot of operating systems on its does not a relevant market make. That happens only when people power it on and use it and walk to their store and ask for copies of applications that'll run on it. When that happens, we will be there."
