Micropolis Corp. makes announcement.

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 1995--Micropolis Corp. (NASDAQ/NMS:MLIS) Friday stated that distribution orders to date for the 4 and 9 GB drives have been substantially lower than that previously anticipated by the company.

In addition, the company is experiencing a component problem which has adversely impacted current production and sales of the 2 GB drive.

As a result of these factors, Micropolis anticipates a significant decline in first-quarter revenues as compared with the fourth quarter of 1994. The estimated decline in revenues may result in a net loss for the first quarter. The company also indicated that cash will decrease substantially due to the revenue shortfall and resultant increase in inventory.

Founded in 1976, Micropolis is a leading designer and manufacturer of Super-Capacity(TM) disk drives, information storage and video systems. Its products are sold to OEMs and system integrators and through distributors and VARs. Micropolis has headquarters in Chatsworth, sales offices throughout the world and manufacturing facilities in Singapore and Thailand.
