Micron Electronics, Inc., introduces next generation desktop products.

NAMPA, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1996--Micron Electronics(TM), Inc., today announced the next generation of computers for its desktop product lines. The next generation Millennia(TM) and Home MPC(TM) series of personal computers are centered around the Intel(TM) 82430HX chipset, ultra-fast EDO DRAM, and pipelined burst cache. All systems feature a newly-designed, unique case which gives the user increased accessibility for upgrades. The new design also incorporates a highly-efficient cooling design, resulting in a quieter overall system. All Millennia and Home MPC systems feature the new Diamond Stealth(TM) 3D 2000 video adapter, which is based on the S3-Virge(TM) chipset and supports MPEG playback and 3D graphics. All systems also include 8X CDROMs and 16-bit stereo sound.

With this new generation of products, Micron has redesigned its desktop and minitower products across the board to provide high-performance, state-of-the-art features. New features incorporate emerging technologies which support ease of use and simple upgradeability for users.
