Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services to Announce Winners Of 2000 Governor's Quality Care Awards at June 29 Dinner in East Lansing.

Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services Director Kathleen Wilbur said the winners of the 2000 Governor's Quality Care Award will be announced at a celebration on Thursday, June 29 in the Big Ten Room at the MSU Kellogg Center in East Lansing. The media is invited to attend the event which includes a: 6 p.m. cocktail reception; 7 p.m. buffet dinner; and 7:30 p.m. awards ceremony.

Nearly 600 people will be attending the event, which recognizes outstanding state-licensed day care homes and centers, nursing homes, hospices, homes for the aged and adult foster care facilities. CIS received nearly 700 nominations, which were reviewed by a team of child and health care experts and narrowed down to 78 finalists. Wilbur and her staff conducted on-site reviews at each of the finalist's facilities to help determine this year's winners to be announced on Thursday.
