Michael Robert Brennan.

SHREWSBURY On March 28, 2010, Michael Robert Brennan slipped quietly, gracefully and, as was his way, without fanfare, from the arms of those who loved him here on earth into the loving arms of the Lord. Michael's gentle courage epitomized love, patience, faith, and perseverance. His life and his example challenged those who knew him to be better than they thought that they could be. Michael taught them each day that with God all things were possible and that every day was precious. In his twenty-four years, Michael enjoyed a full life exemplified by victories, both large and small. His passing brings great sorrow to those who were honored to care for him. His challenging medical needs notwithstanding, Michael was so very easy to love and loved so deeply in return.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Michael A. and Carolyn V. (Hegan) Brennan; his two siblings, Matthew T. and Mary T. Brennan, both of Shrewsbury; his paternal grandparents, Thomas L. and Grace (Gallagher) Brennan of Danbury, CT; his maternal grandfather, Robert S. Hegan of Winsted, CT; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, GloriaAnn (Palmer) Hegan. Michael was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and lived in Fitchburg and then Shrewsbury for the past 16 years. In addition to the people he loved, Michael had many passions. He loved reading with his father, being held by his mother, listening to music with his brother, watching television with his sister, and supporting the Red Sox and Patriots with his friends. He also loved attending concerts, shows, sporting events, and especially Mass at St. Mary's Parish, where he was a valued member.

Michael's family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have so lovingly cared for Michael through the years, especially Nedda Hobbs, Lois Smith, Catherine Avey, Michelle Hale, Mary Williams, Kristi Volkerding, Carie Miele, Helen Bonnett, Nancy Wahome, and his best friend, Nancy Leary.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on SATURDAY, April 3rd from 12:30 to 2:30 PM and from 4:30 to 6:30 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral will be held on MONDAY, April 5th with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 12 Noon in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
