Mexico cites Corona brewers for marketing

Cerveceria Modelo has been awarded Mexico's "Medal of Merit in Foreign Trade" for its worldwide marketing of its Corona line of beers.

The award was presented recently to Valentin Diez Morodo, senior vice president of marketing and sales, by Carlos Salinas de Gortari, the President of Mexico, during the Annual Congress of the National Association of Importers and Exporters of Mexico (ANIERM) in Mexico City.

According to the brewer, Corona was the fastest-growing export beer during the last decade and continues to be a leading import in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Corona was also introduced to Europe last year where it is already gaining acceptance in Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland and Holland.
