Police at the Mexico City airport detained a local legislator after it was allegedly found that the man was carrying a small quantity of marijuana.

The police reportedly found the drug yesterday (30 March) during a routine pre-boarding search and Jesus Coca Gonzalez, who is a member of the Queretaro state legislature, was detained and turned over to prosecutors, The Associated Press reported.

The prosecutors have to decide within 48 hours whether they will raise formal charges or not.
