Metro money could be better spent THERE is more rejoicing that the Metro "all that glisters is not gold" tram is to go gracefully sweeping past that disgraceful, dilapidated, enormous office block that is Cavendish House in Dudley.

With cost over-runs, nearly PS400 million has been spent for only 11 kilometres of frequent-stopping trams that trundle past that other mighty office blot on the landscape in Flood Street.

The low-income, hard-working families of Dudley town might prefer the many millions spent on trams to give them, instead, the low fare or fareless buses or, decent, modest-sized, highly-insulated and low-energy, comfortable homes. Tim Weller, Halesowen
