City Club meeting set: Royce Saltzman, executive director of the Oregon Bach Festival, will be the guest speaker at Friday's meeting of the City Club of Eugene.
In addition to discussing the origin of the festival, Saltzman will preview the 2002 season.

City seeks historic commissioners: The city is accepting applications for two four-year positions on the seven-member Historic Commission.
Preference will be given to applicants with technical expertise or background in historic preservation, local history, architecture, construction, archaeology or preservation-related fields. Applicants don't need to be residents or property owners but must meet State Historic Preservation Office guidelines.
Applications are available at the city manager's office in City Hall, Fifth and A streets. The deadline is 5 p.m. June 28. For more information, call 726-3700.
