Met office warns heavy rain to cause flash flood in next 3-4 days.

ISLAMABAD -- Heavy rains may generate flash flooding and urban flooding in the vulnerable area, in next three to four days asking all concerned authorities to take precautionary measures accordingly.

Widespread rains with scattered heavy at times very heavy falls expected in Malaknd, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Bajour, Mahmond, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram Agencies, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during Sunday to Tuesday, while in Sukkar, Larkana, Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, D.G.Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Zhob, Sibbi, Nasirabad and D.I. Khan division during Monday to Thursday.

Met office reported that well marked seasonal low lies over southwest Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending South eastward.

Strong monsoon currents are penetrating into upper and Central parts of the country and expected to continue during next two days that may interact with westerly wave. Strong monsoon currents are also approaching in southern parts of the country and likely to continue upto Thursday.

More widespread rain-thundershower with scattered heavy falls expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, D.I.Khan divisions), Upper FATA (Bajour, Mahmond, Khyber, Orakzai and Kurram Agencies), Sindh(Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions), Islamabad, Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Multan,

D.G khan, Bahwalpur, Sahiwal divisions), Balochistan(Zhob, Sibbi, Kalat, Naseerabad divisions), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while scattered rain-thundershower expected in Faisalabad, Karachi divisions, Lower KP(Kohat, Bannu divisions).

In Khaber Pakhtonkhwa more widespread rain-thundershower with scattered heavy falls expected in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, D.I.Khan divisions, Upper FATA (Bajour, Mahmond, Khyber, Orakzai and Kurram Agencies).

In Sindh heavy down pour is expected at Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas,

Hyderabad divisions, besides in federal capital and Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, D.G khan, Bahwalpur, Sahiwal divisions) will be hit by heavy showers.

In Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Kallat, Naseerabad divisions), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan heavy rain will be forecast, while scattered rain-thundershower will be expected in Faisalabad, Karachi divisions, Lower KP (Kohat, Bannu divisions).

During last 24 hours widespread rain-thundershower occurred in Kashmir, Malakand, Gujranwala divisions while scattered rain-thundershower occurred in Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas divisions, whereas isolated rain-thundershower occurred in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours remained Kotli 96, sialkot 82, Khanpur 54, malmjabba 53, Muzaffarabad 51, Garhi dupatta 41, Murree 40, Pattan 35, Lahore City 27, Peshawar A/P 26, Islamkot 24, Multan 22, Balakot 21, Mangla 20, Islamabad ( Z.P 19, Saidpur 12, Golra 08), Nagarparkar and Lahore A/P 17, Gujrat 16, Bhawalnagr 15, Chahro, Jhelum and Gujranwala 14, Dir and Sialkot A/P 10 mm. Dalbandin 44AA,C, Nokkundi, Sibbi 42AA,C and Dadu 41AA,C.
