Message from the national President / Message de la presidente nationale.

The 2009 Semi-Annual Meetings held in Toronto will be remembered as one of those defining moments in the history of CIM. All the delegates became active participants in setting the strategic direction of our Institute. 'Change' became the word and mood of the sessions. There is much work to be done to complete a strategic plan, set an internal operations plan, tie it to the proposed spending, and to make the largest strides possible to increase membership and awareness during these tough economic times.

Embracing new technologies will help us to reduce spending and expand our markets. The 'Skype' technology is allowing us to meet and make decisions in a timely, cost-efficient manner. Not that many years ago, my father asked why I needed call waiting or an answering machine and why I carried a cellular phone. Can you imagine how we would operate without these today? Not possible. Now, I am looking forward to utilizing all these and many other available technologies to grow our Institute.

One way to take advantage of new technology is revamping the delivery of our National Distance Education Program. In fact, the Board is pleased to announce that we have agreed in principle to outsource this portion of our deliverables. There will be a transition phase, so stay tuned to keep informed on the new offerings coming soon.

The next few months leading up to the Annual General Meeting and Conference will be packed with new ideas. The Membership Director is gathering White Papers for publication on our website, and we feel that this resource will prove to be a very informative section of the website. This is only one of the newest initiatives that we are working on. We all have 'Brilliance Within' and you will be seeing 'Leadership in Action'. Don't miss out on the developing momentum. Check out the conference material and plan to join the excitement.

In conclusion, I want to thank everyone for their support, initiative and passion for our great Institute-together we stand and will grow exponentially. We are the Leaders in Management.

On se rappellera des reunions semestrielles 2009 tenues a Toronto comme un des moments decisifs dans l'histoire de I'ICG. Tous les delegues ont participe activement dans l'etablissement de la direction strategique de l'Institut. L'humeur est au changement. Il nous reste beaucoup de travail a accomplir afin de completer notre plan strategique, tel qu'etablir un plan d'operation interne, le reconcilier avec le calendrier des depenses prevues, augmenter le nombre d'adhesions en plus de sensibiliser les gens durant le contexte economique actuel.

Profiter des nouvelles technologies nous permettra de reduire nos couts et d'agrandir notre part de marche. La technologie << Skype >> nous permet de communiquer et de prendre des decisions de maniere efficace et economique.

Il n'y a pas si longtemps, mon pere me demandait pourquoi j'avais besoin de l'appel en attente, d'un repondeur et d'un telephone portable. Pouvez-vous vous imaginer comment nous ferions aujourd'hui dans ces gadgets? Impossible. Je suis impatiente d'utiliser toutes ces technologies et celles a venir afin de faire croitre notre Institut.

Une des facons de profiter des nouvelles technologies est d'ameliorer notre programme de formation a distance. En fait, le Conseil est heureux de vous annoncer que nous nous sommes entendus, en principe, pour externaliser cette portion de nos services. Il y aura une periode de transition, alors restez a l'affut des nouveaux services qui seront bientot offerts.

Les mois precedents l'Assemblee generale annuelle et la conference seront remplis de nouvelles idees. Le directeur des adhesions cumule des livres blancs afin de les publier sur notre site Web et nous croyons que cette section s'avera une des ressources les plus informatives de notre site. Et ce n'est qu'une des initiatives sur laquelle nous travaillons. Nous ferons preuve de << brillance d'esprit >> et de << leadership en action >>. Pour ne rien rater, consultez la brochure sur la conference et prevoyez prendre part a toute l'excitation.

En conclusion, j'aimerais vous remercier pour votre soutien, votre initiative et pour votre passion pour l'Institut, ensemble, nous saurons grandir. Nous sommes des leaders dans le domaine de la gestion.
