Mersey defeat for Lady Mags; FA NATIONAL LEAGUE.
NEWCASTLE United suffered a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool Feds in the Northern Division.
The Feds' Carla Lee hit the bar from outside the box and Grace Donnelly denied Jodie Mortimer before Amelia Panayi opened the scoring 10 minutes before the interval.
The Merseyside outfit then stepped up a gear and four minutes into the second half doubled their advantage as Carla Lee latched on to a though ball and calmly finished.
On the hour mark, a good run into the box by Helen Griffiths saw her brought down - but from the spot Lee hit the post.
However, three minutes later it was 3-0, another weaving run by Griffiths ending with her pulling the ball back for Mortimer to slot home.
Paige Cole made it 4-0 on 77 minutes after dribbling through the Toon defence.
The Lady Mags, who have scored only twice but conceded 12 goals in their opening four league matches, sit only above winless Chorley and Stockport County.
Durham Cestria climbed to third with 5-0 victory at Stockport County.
Confidence was high after the 6-1 thrashing of Newcastle but Cestria had to wait until the 42nd minute to opening the scoring through Erin Nelson.
Within 60 seconds it was 2-0, Dannika Purdham netting.
Three goals in the last five minutes made for a more emphaticlooking scoreline.
Lily Crosthwaite and Chloe Ryan notched before a fantastic Lauren Robson strike completed the Cestrians' tally in the last minute.
Sunderland ran out emphatic 9-1 winners against Hull City - Bridget Galloway (3), Faye Mullen (2), Keira Ramshaw (2), Jessica Brown and Charlotte Potts all finding the net.
