Merger brings lower-cost Web-based software for long term care industry.

St. Louis-based Management-Data (MDI) has merged with Wheat Ridge, Colo.-based Panoramic Care systems to create MDI Technologies. The new company will supply Web-based software applications via an Application Service Provider (ASP) model for data management in the long term care industry.

MDI originally offered DOS-based clinical and accounting software applications to the long term care industry. Later it was the first to offer the ability to manage clinical and accounting data over the Internet with MDIConnect.

MDI Technologies is launching PreView Screening, which will allow managers to analyze cost versus reimbursement data for residents before the admissions process even begins.
