Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (Daimler) (NYSE: DAI) (FWB: DAI), is equipping its new V-8 using direct injection and turbochargers in the 2011 CLS550.

The new CLS is to be named the CLS460 Kompressor or possibly Doppel-Kompressor.

The new engine delivers 429bhp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The model is to arrive at United States dealerships in the autumn of 2010.
