Mentel strength ends Blues run.

STRANRAER 0 CLYDE 0 FILIP MENTEL pulled off a super late save to wreck Stranraer's winning run - then piled praise on his team-mates for a crucial clean sheet.

After shipping four goals last week the Bully Wee shut out Stranraer to end the home side's five-match victory streak.

On-loan Dundee United keeper Mentel said: "Our whole team did brilliantly - it's all about them today.

"It was a great shift and keeping clean sheets is something extra."

Stranraer had Danny Mitchell's header ruled out for offside early on.

Stephen McDonald and Liam Cusack both tested Blues No.1 David Mitchell but Mentel ensured the spoils were shared when he brilliantly denied Sean Winter eight minutes from time.

Home boss Keith Knox said: "Their keeper had a great save at the end. It's just one of those days."
