Menace driver.

My friend and his pregnant wife were giving me a lift home after dropping my car for service. As we turned left at the Mina Salman junction to go towards Juffair, an Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) vehicle started to pull across the road to the point where he almost hit us.

My friend was blasting the horn to warn the driver, who was now aware we were there. Did he realise his mistake? Of course not, he blatantly pulled across in front and my friend reacted to narrowly avoid an accident.

So, the joke part here? On the rear of the car there was a sign stating "How is my driving? Please call 17458108" I decided to call and complain. The call went to an automated reply "The person at 8108 is not available, please wait while we transfer you to voicemail". Then, "This person does not subscribe to voicemail, Thank you for calling".

So, the EWA goes to the expense of painting their vehicles with the "How is my driving" thing to encourage people to report bad driving, but has nobody on the end of the phone?

Brilliant, and dare I say it - only in Bahrain, from a government department - unbelievable.

On a more serious note however, we have many idiots on the roads in Bahrain as people often write about, however those in government employment should be setting an example, unlike the selfish, arrogant idiot we saw.

Shame on you, EWA.

Amazed
