Memories of Mothers; views.

I LIVED in Erdington and went to Mothers often.

John Peel was the DJ. The Moody Blues, Black Sabbath, Canned Heat and many, many more great bands played there.

You would have to queue around the block for hours and when you got inside the body heat was over-powering - no air con in those days - but it was well worth it.

I saw some of the most incredible bands there.

It was an era I will never forget.

Mothers was the place to be and people I talk to about it only wish they had been around at that time.

They missed out on a club never to be replaced.
