Melissa Frio; Tantasqua Regional.

Frio, Tantasqua's No. 2 all-time scorer, sparked the Warriors to the Mid-Mass Lacrosse League championship and the Central Mass. tournament semifinals. She had 58 goals and 24 assists during the regular season to place second in the league in scoring while collecting MMLL All-Star honors for the first time. She scored three goals in each of Tantasqua's last two victories, both over Nipmuc Regional, in the regular-season finale, then the tournament quarterfinals. In basketball, she was named to the All-SWCL second team, and in soccer she was selected to the SWCL's first team. Her sister Jessie also helped the Warriors this season with 22 goals and six assists. Frio is headed to Duke University in the fall, and after college would like "to find a job I love that makes a positive difference." She is the daughter of Peggy and Louis Frio of Sturbridge.
