Melbourne Digital Agency Note to Marketing Managers - FY 2013/14 Web Trends.

Melbourne, Australia, July 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Butterfly, a digital agency based in Melbourne, notes that designing, developing and managing websites is changing more rapidly then ever before.

There are very few industries that change faster then those in the digital marketing space and these new financial year 2013/14 trends highlight that more then ever before. Marketing teams are being challenged to keep up and here is what Butterfly predicts the next 12 months will look like:

1. Mobile - revise and refine

In 2012, many businesses were attempting to get their sites mobile, ready to be seen as credible by their mobile savvy customers. This is a great first step but with the exponential growth of mobile users, the next phase of mobile web experiences must be those truly designed, and refined for mobile-specific tasks and user needs, not just smaller screens.

2. Responsive layouts

Responsive web design has been around for a few years now although it wasn't until recently this year that responsive design has gained more of a following and become 2013's buzz word.

The advantage of responsive web design is that it allows a website to respond to the particular device that it is viewed on giving the user an optimized experience.

3. Grids

Designing for web can be extremely challenging particularly over the last few years where designers have had to create multiple mock ups for different screen sizes and devices.

This year Adobe are working on an exciting new program called "Adobe Edge Reflow" with an intuitive user interface that allows you to design simultaneously for all screen sizes.

4. Demos and graphic enhancements

There is an increasing effort to make content more engaging. Whether its copywriting or animated enhancements content is still king and people are exploring new and interesting techniques graphic enhancement to make their content stand out.

5. Typography

In recent times there has been more emphasis on typography to create less clutter and simply provide all that the user needs to see - content.

With such a variety of available web fonts thanks to Google fonts and type kit designers can choose their fonts wisely and ensure that sites are built with rich text effects using CSS3 properties.

"Marketing Managers can use the 2013 emerging trends to produce new and interesting digital content for their audiences. By following some of the tips as noted above, Marketing Managers will not only keep up, will also delight their audiences," said John Anderton, Butterfly.
