Mel goes on a raw meat diet.

HEALTH nut Mel Gibson (above) is on a raw meat kick - in the belief that it will help him to live longer.

The 45-year-old Lethal Weapon movie star is tucking into uncooked meals, fruit and algae.

'If tigers can eat raw steak, so can I,' he is reported to have said.

The Australian-born star supplements his meals with fistfuls of vitamins and Chinese herbs, avocado and olive oil every day.

'Mel believes this will give his system a natural boost,' said an aide.

'He feels that eating raw beef will boost his immune system and slow down the ageing process. Once meat is cooked, he says, it loses some of its nutrients.'
