London, November 21 (ANI): A Meghalayan man's claim that he has the most fingers and toes on Earth has prompted Guinness World Records bosses to probe whether he has become the third Indian national to hold world record for having the larges number of digits.

Tammiki Passah, of Jaintia Hills district, has 25 digits in all - 12 toes and 13 fingers.

According to the Austian Times, he can be proclaimed a world record holder if his joint claim is authorised by the book.

The man, who nearly got blind after a childhood bout of typhoid, claims that his 13 fingers have given him an increased sense of touch, and that he can identify any coin just by feeling it.

Pranamya Menaria and Devendra Harne are the two Indian national who are currently in the record book. Both of them have the same number of digits as Tammiki.

"The matter is being looked into," the Daily Express quoted Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner S Goyal as confirming. (ANI)
