Mega Mirror: Hot 5; Here's our choice of the greatest games.
WITH the arrival of Nintendo's Game Boy Advance and lots of hot new titles for the PlayStation 2, it's an exciting time for game fans. So if you're looking for some gaming action, check out Mega's five hottest titles.
GRAN TURISMO 3: (PlayStation 2 - pounds 34.99)
THIS ultra-lifelike driving sim really shows what Sony's PS2 can do in the graphics department. It boasts 150 stunning cars with accurate handling and realistic driver behaviour, as well as 15 action-packed tracks including new courses in Tokyo and Monte Carlo. To make it even more realistic, the weather conditions change during the races. Two can play on a split screen.
SUPER MARIO ADVANCE (Game Boy Advance - pounds 29.99)
THE plumber from Brooklyn has been entertaining gamers since 1985 and his first outing on Nintendo's new handheld won't disappoint. There are 20 colourful levels and you play as Mario, Luigi, Peach or Toad. It includes a version of the classic Mario Bros and a four-player option. There's also a wacky new technique for beating up baddies - bashing them on the head with vegetables.
WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE JUNIOR (PS One/ PC - pounds 29.99)
THE million-selling game based on the hit TV show has been revamped and made easier for kids. It boasts 1,000 questions and has all the features of the programme, including Chris Tarrant's voice. If you're stuck, you can go 50:50, Ask The Audience or Phone A Friend, and you can play alone or in a team. The only difference is that it's a virtual pounds 1million you aim to win, not the real thing!
DIGIMON WORLD (PS One - pounds 29.99)
IT MIGHT not be as big as Pokemon but Digimon is still a school- yard hit and at last fans can get their mitts on a PlayStation game. As the heroic Tai, you're fighting to save File Island from Digital Monsters. You must win the trust of Digimon by training and feeding them to become strong enough to take on their enemies. The game features more than 200 Digimon, including Gargumon and Greymon.
TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 2 (Game Boy Advance - pounds 29.99)
AFTER hits on the PS One and the original Game Boy, now Tony Hawk flips on to the Game Boy Advance. Players have to master hundreds of new tricks and combos including grabs, slides and grinds and there are new locations based on real skateparks. You play as one of 12 pros including Bob Burnquist, Steve Caballero and Tony Hawk himself. Expect great graphics and excellent playability.
