Mega Mirror: FIVE out of NinTENdo!; N64 IS STILL GOING STRONG.

NINTENDO has joined the race for the next generation consoles. The new system has been codenamed Dolphin and will be launched at the end of next year.

It will use DVD as the storage medium and will be powered by a massive 400Mhz chip, christened Gekko, which is being developed by PC company IBM.

For now, however, the N64 is still going strong, boosted by the Players Choice budget range which gives you the chance to buy top games for pounds 29.99.

As 007, you must accomplish various missions, including copying top-secret documents and diverting the course of the rogue GoldenEye satellite.

The action really hots up when Bond finds himself at a secret base in Siberia, and on top of a giant satellite antenna in Cuba.1080 SNOWBOARDING (pounds 49.99)THIS supercool snowboarding sim boasts jaw-dropping graphics and realistic backgrounds of snowdrifts, mountains, glaciers and ravines.

Five top international boarders are featured and you choose from eight snowboards. You can choose either to zoom down the slopes at max speed or perfect tricks such as the half-pipe and nose grab.MARIO KART 64 (pounds 29.99)MARIO KART is the N64 successor to the SNES go-karting classic and is now part of the Players Choice budget range. It features all your favourite Mario characters including Mario, Bowser and Yoshi and you race on four progressively tougher four-track circuits. The Special Cup tests your karting skills to the max.F-1 WORLD GRAND PRIX (pounds 29.99)F-1 WORLD GRAND PRIX is pure pedal-to-the-floor racing action. It's based on the 1997 season, but boasts awesome graphics and flowing gameplay. The cars have been recreated and the tracks are authentic with detailed backgrounds. But you'll have to hone your skills behind the wheel before you can master it. It's a must-have game.
