Meeting over new hospital.

A PUBLIC meeting will give people the opportunity to discuss proposals for a new specialist emergency care hospital.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is proposing to build a multi-million pound specialist emergency care hospital south of East Cramlington and next to the A189 spine road.

On Monday a public meeting is being held by Northumberland County Council's planning development team to give members of the public an opportunity to have their say on the plans.

Health chiefs want to transfer all serious emergency care cases from North Tyneside and Wansbeck general hospitals to the new pounds 75m specialist centre.

The meeting will be at Shankhouse Central Working Men's Club from 6pm.

The hospital application can be viewed on the county council's website at www.northumberland.
